Is it an alcohol overdose?
Check for PUBS signs!
- Puking while passed out
- Unresponsive to normal attempts to wake
- Breathing is slow, noisy, shallow or has stopped
- Skin is blue, cold or clammy
See even one sign? Unsure? Save a life and call for help!
WashU’s Medical Amnesty policy helps remove barriers to calling for help.
Setting a personal drinking limit
You can use tools like Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) charts to help set a drinking limit that works best for you. BAC charts take into consideration your sex assigned at birth, your weight and number of standard drinks consumed over a period of time to estimate what your BAC would be. If you choose to drink, it’s recommended to set a limit that keeps you in the green, or at a BAC of 0.06 or lower.
Remember:
Avoid binge drinking.
Aim for a limit under 4 drinks in 2 hours as a general guideline.
Never drive impaired.
Always use a designated driver who is 100% sober.
